RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities have identified a 55-year-old man whose body was found in a tent in the Wind River Mountains east of Dubois (DOO'-boyce) in northwest Wyoming.
Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan on Monday identified the man as Steven McAlister of St. Petersbug, Fla.
A hunting guide found McAlister's body and reported it to authorities last Wednesday. McAlister's body was found in the Lake Creek area in the mountains above the East Fork of the Wind River.
McAuslan says an autopsy was conducted and the preliminary cause of death is exposure and malnutrition.
He says McAlister was camping but authorities don't believe he was a hunter. He says there's no indication of foul play.
A Fremont County sheriff's spokesman says he doesn't know what McAlister was doing in the mountains and the investigation is closed.
