INDIAN SHORES, Fla. (AP) - A 26-year-old St. Petersburg man has been killed in a shootout with police.

It started late Wednesday when Pinellas County deputies tried to stop the black Mustang that Kentin Deon Brooks was driving, and ended in a gun fight after they forced the car to crash.

Brooks allegedly began shooting from the car, and three deputies and an Indian Shores police officer returned fire.

The officers are on administrative leave pending further investigation. None were hurt.
