ATLANTA (AP) - Seven legislative seats in Georgia are up for grabs in Tuesday's elections.
Candidates will vye for two state Senate seats.
In the Savannah area, a pair of Republicans are facing off to replace Eric Johnson, the former president pro tempore of the Senate who left to run for governor. In Atlanta, seven Democrats are battling to claim the seat held by Kasim Reed, who's running for mayor.
There are also elections being held for five House seats. 1 of them is the West Georgia seat Republican Vance Smith held before becoming state transportation commissioner.
Another is the Milledgeville seat that had been held by Republican Bobby Parham until his election to the state Transportation Board. Two Atlanta seats and another along the coast are also being contested.
