H & R Grocery aggravated battery complaint

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Friday the 21st day of November, 2009 at approximately 1530 hours Madison County Sheriff's Office patrol units responded to the H & R Grocery in Greenville Florida concerning an aggravated battery complaint. Deputy Tim Nagy was the assigned and first responding Deputy.

Upon arrival, Deputy Nagy observed the complainant bleeding profusely from his head, ears and arms. Deputy Nagy's preliminary investigation and witness statements determined that the complainant was arguing with Rufus Jones concerning some personal matters and Rufus Jones attacked the complainant with a machete. 

An immediate search for Rufus Jones was initiated and on or about 1800 hours this same date, Rufus Jones turned himself in at the Madison County Jail.

Rufus Jones, B/M, DOB: 10/20/1948 of Greenville, Florida, was arrested and charged with Aggravated battery with great bodily harm.
