ATLANTA (AP) - Two former state employees have been sentenced for their parts in a criminal charge-fixing scheme.
Keith Hughes of Covington and 33-year-old Natalie Nicole Dunn of Ellenwood were sentenced on Monday. They were each convicted on one count of conspiracy to commit extortion.
The 39-year-old Hughes is the former coordinator of the DeKalb County Office of Pretrial Services and Dunn is a former DeKalb County State Court probation officer.
Both were sentenced to two years, 11 months in federal prison, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release.
Hughes was ordered to pay a fine of $2,500 and perform 200 hours of community service. Dunn was ordered to perform 250 hours of community service.
The two offered to have charges dismissed for a drug suspect if he paid them $25,000.
