Tallahassee, FL (WTXL)--Greyhound racing opponents urge legislators not to expand gambling at dog tracks. The Florida legislature has talked about possibly allowing expanded gambling at dog tracks. Members of Grey 2k USA, an anti-dog racing group, say they are opposed to expanding gambling at tracks because they say the dogs are not treated well. They say because dog racing has dropped in popularity the key to ending dog racing is to stop tracks from getting more gambling options.
Supporters of dog racing say the dogs are treated humanely and the voters in the areas with tracks want the extra tax revenue that comes with gambling. Florida is one of ten states that have dog racing.
