Tallahassee, FL (WTXL)--With 149 deaths in Mexico linked to swine flu the outbreak of the virus is sparking fears right here in Tallahassee. ABC 27's Rebecca Baer has the latest on how students who vacationed in Mexico are reacting.

At Florida State University many students have heard about the dozens of Americans that have come down with swine flu but most aren't too worried.

Even those like Josh Burns who traveled to Mexico just a few months ago.  He admits he checked in with a doctor but thinks compared to Mexicans most Americans are safe.

"It's probably not as serious as it is over there, they have 100 + deaths and there are people already recovering from the same strain," said Josh Burns, not worried.

Allison Cory spent several days recovering last month after a cruise to Mexico.  She and some sorority sisters got sick on the ship sparking some concern this week after the swine flu outbreak.

"I've heard about that and I started to wonder if that is what it was, but I got it before we got to Mexico so I don't think it had anything to do with that," said Allison Cory, sick after cruise to Mexico.

Doctors here at the university health center say they haven't really had any students come in with concerns about swine flu, but they are preparing a statement along with some tips to make sure students are aware of the disease urging them to take precautions even if they aren't worried.

School staff expects to release those advisories April 28th.
