New Screening Available to Help Prevent Heart Problems

Prevention.....it's the first step to better health. Now there's a new screening available locally, to help you prevent a heart attack or stroke. It's called Angio Screen. It's a painless, non-invasive screening and the whole process takes about 15 minutes.

Angio Screen uses ultrasound technology to measure ankle brachial index, a screening for blockages in the leg arteries that is usually not performed by doctors unless you're symptomatic.

"We don't take advantage of our body like our cars. We take our cars in every 3000 miles why not ourselves so we can kinda look at things," said Angel Lluveras, R.T., DIR., Imaging Services, CRMC.

The screening also measures blood pressure, pulse, and body mass index. You'll also leave with a c-d of your screening as well as your instant color ultrasound printout. The screening costs 75 dollars.
