TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Tallahassee is named a Gold Certified Green City for its outstanding environmental stewardship. Tallahassee is the first city in Florida to be awarded Gold Certified.  Tallahassee was able to accomplish the move from silver designation to gold in under a year.

There will be an official ceremony this Wednesday February 11th at 10am at Doug Burnette Park. A "treasure hunt for gold" will be conducted over the hour-long event, and one of the city's electric vehicles will be on display.
