TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - People in the community put their skills to the test in front of Military members Saturday.

About 30 people gave it their all during workouts at Boot Camp Fitness and Training.

It was part of GoRuck, a national organization that puts average citizens through a six hour ruck, which is a walking, training, or hiking with a weighted backpack.

The head instructor of the event told WTXL, these rucks mean just as much to him as to the people working out.

"I learn from them just as much as they learn from me. There is not an event where I do not take away something from the class that I cherish and keep for myself, so I get to work with my fellow cadre all throughout the world really. It's a great time," said Dustin Ostberg.

20 percent of the registration fee was donated to the Navy Seal Foundation.

The gym also accepted canned goods for Veteran's village, a transitional housing for homeless vets.
