JACKSON, COUNTY (WTXL) - An elderly man was seriously injured in a car accident in Jackson County.
William Smith, 79, of Marianna, suffered serious injuries in the accident.
On Friday around 11:05 a.m., Florida Highway Patrol arrived on the scene of a two-car accident.
FHP says Smith was traveling on Messer Rd. and a semi-truck was traveling northbound on State Road 69.
According to FHP, Smith failed to stop at a stop sign causing his car to hit the rear tires of the semi-truck.
Smith was transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
The semi-truck driver was not injured.
FHP says charges are pending further investigation.
