TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University is turning purple this week for the annual Relay for Life event this Friday.
Students got the chance to learn more about Relay for Life and and help raise awareness for those affected by cancer.
This year, Relay for Life turns 15 years old.
Students hope to raise at least $300,000 for the American Cancer Society.
"We had a great turn out. We're here with some cake, some music, our leadership team is here," said Gabriela Paris. "We're always here for the survivors and everyone that's been effected by cancer, so its important that were here today and that people come out to support our event."
FSU's Relay for life is this Friday at 6 p.m. at the main intramural fields.
