FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder after he shot at an occupied vehicle and barricaded himself inside his Carrabelle home with two children.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says the incident started around 8 a.m. at a home off of River Road.

An active shooter, now identified as Daniel Gray, was said to be inside the residence with two children. Gray had fired multiple shots at a vehicle occupied by multiple people, but no one was hurt.

He then barricaded himself inside the home, leading to a nearly four-hour standoff with law enforcement.

Eventually, Sheriff 'AJ' Smith was able to convince Gray to come out of the home and took him into custody. He has been charged with three counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and criminal mischief.
