GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Quincy man involved in a hit-and-run crash that almost ran over a construction worker has been arrested.

Don L. Hargrove, 38, was involved in a hit-and-run crash at the 193 mile marker on I-10 in Midway at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, a Florida Highway Patrol news release said.

While fleeing the scene, Hargrove drove through a coned-off construction area, almost running over a construction worker, and was dragging several cones underneath his vehicle.

The vehicle fled west on I-10 and got off onto State Road 267, where the trooper spotted it and tried to make a traffic stop. Hargrove turned east on Joe Adams road to try to flee but then stopped, bailed out and ran east on Joe Adams road.

The trooper caught Hargrove and tasered him, causing Hargrove to stop. Hargrove and the trooper ended up on the ground, with the trooper trying to handcuff him, but then Hargrove escaped and ran into a wooded area.

The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office K-9 team and the trooper first found where Hargrove had taken off clothing and hidden a large amount of marijuana and then found him.

Hargrove was booked him into the Gadsden County jail.

He faces charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, possession of marijuana - over 20 grams, and intent to distribute.
