Six-year-old dies after being hit by car in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A six-year-old child died from his injuries after being hit by a car in Madison County.  

Florida Highway Patrol responded to an accident at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday on NW Parramore Avenue. 

According to FHP, a car was traveling north on Parramore Ave., approaching the intersection of SW Miller Street. 

FHP says the driver steered the car to the left, trying to avoid hitting the 6-year-old child.  

FHP states the driver ultimately hit the child, throwing him across Parramore Avenue into the curb of SW Miller Street.   

FHP says the car then ran off the roadway, hitting a tree.  

The driver was not injured in the accident and the 6-year-old child died from his injuries. 

FHP states alcohol did not play a factor in the accident and charges are currently pending. 

The Madison Police Department, Madison EMS, and Madison Fire Engine #2 assisted FHP on scene. 


MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida Highway Patrol is reporting a fatal crash in Madison County. 

According to FHP, they responded to a fatal accident on 433 NW Parramore Avenue in between NW Haynes Street and NW Sumter Street at about 3:49 p.m. Saturday. 

At this time FHP has not said how many cars were involved or how many other people were injured.
