LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Students at Canopy Oaks Elementary and Godby High School saw a familiar face serving their meals Thursday.

Superintendent Rocky Hanna helped prepare and dish out tasty meals.

Thursday's job marked the end of this year's "Superintendent's Work Day."

Over the course of the year, Hanna spent a day working in a number of school related positions, including a bus driver, a crossing guard, and a food service worker.

Working these jobs and interacting with the employees has allowed Hanna to see how critical theses positions are to the district and the students.

"We can never do enough for our employees. Any little bit that I can do to listen to some of their concerns and then to hopefully help them financially," said Hanna. "We have to be able to support our people."

Superintendent Hanna says that this year's "work days" have been such a huge success, and it's likely they will continue next year.
