SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Live Oak man faces a fraud charge after removing an item from a store shelf and exchanging it for another item, a sheriff said.

Lonnie Nikoma Pike, 19, removed an item from a Walmart store shelf and took it to the customer service counter.

There, Pike presented a false receipt for the item and asked to exchange it for another item of value, according to a Suwannee County Sheriff's Office post on Facebook.

Pike received the other item, along with a Walmart gift card for the value of the difference, and then left the store with the fraudulently obtained item and gift card on Oct. 11, 2018.

Pike was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail, where he was charged with retail theft and fraud.
