MADISON, Fla. (WTXL) - One Tallahassee woman died and a second suffered serious injuries in a Madison County crash on I-10 early Monday morning that involved a semi-truck and inclement weather.

Marcy Khan, 66, was a backseat passenger in the car involved in the crash on I-10 at mile marker 251 about 1:10 a.m. Monday, the Florida Highway Patrol said. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the car, Naureen Khan, 34, of Tallahassee suffered serious injuries and was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

The car in which Khan was riding was traveling westbound in the inside lane of I-10, FHP said, and the semi-truck was in the outside lane.

Troopers said after the car passed the truck the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle and it collided with a guardrail.

The semi-truck's driver tried unsuccessfully to stop but could not and the truck collided with the rear of the car.

FHP said the road remained blocked at 5 a.m. Monday.

Neither the truck driver nor his passenger suffered injuries.
