MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A 14-year-old girl suffered serious injuries in a two car accident in Madison County.
On Friday around 3:55 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol arrived to the scene of a two-car accident.
FHP says a 17-year-old was traveling north on State Road 53 behind another vehicle.
According to FHP, the other vehicle slowed down to make a right turn and due to an internal distraction, the 17-year-old did not see the vehicle slowing down and rear-ended the other vehicle.
The driver of the other vehicle, Leroy Jackson, 61, of Madison, suffered minor injuries.
Jackson and the 14-year-old were both transported to Madison County Memorial Hospital.
FHP is charging the 17-year-old with careless driving.
